The Poet and The Beat

Today A Right Pair  went to THE POET & THE BEAT IV  presentedd by James Messiah. We have always been fond of the Concrete based in  the centre London’s trendy east end given the delicious breaded delight  of ‘Pizza East’ upstairs lol wherever there’s food there’s always a good vibe (as far as I’m concerned lol)
Concrete
Hosted by Mo The Comedian it was a very good night indeed, being held in Concrete; right at the heart of the eclectic land of Shoreditch the event had just the right amount of people on a positive vibe-obviously for an event like this the clientele are imperative to setting the scene that ‘kool kid’ presence was rife! Clearly there to watch great U.K talent ranging from different musical delights, rapping, singing, spoken word was the theme of the night.
Eat Me Eat Me! Pizza East
It feature the likes of  United Vibrations, James Massiah, Poeticat, one of my fave seriously underrated uk talent- Mikill Pane & Conrad The Scoundrel (Live) with Spoken Word interludes from Belinda Zhawi & Deanna Rodger. Music was provided by Skinny Macho giving us those ‘back in tha day’ 90’s  hip hop and House & Funk to seal the deal of coolness lol

Mikill Pane
I had never seen this guy perform before but one of his songs definitely stuck out to me, in particular,; reminiscent of the old skool days of being 14 and 15, the days when Dizzie was just an East boy and a Rolex was a dream for Wiley, after mash up of hype grime anthems he showed the roots of his primary musical direction, refreshing and undiluted attitudes from the streets, un industry manipulated and full of energy.
Here’s a snippet of the song he performed alongside his brother...

Nail Porn

Sophy Robson is the founder of Nail Porn... one of te first of her kind to make a significant impact on the fashion industry, recognising that nails are an imperitive part of the fashion world.

Its crazy just how much attention girls pay to thier nails!!!! and how long it takes for a girl to chose a nail varnish!
Nail Porn today launched thier new autumn winter collection influenced by the current trends,  firstly I would just say...luciousness!!!!
The designs featured  chains, glitter stars bows and  patterns to distinctive shades to add a quirky element to that 'freakum' outfit..

Situated at the  hairdresses Hari's renowned in South West London - the location was perfect, quirky freindly, and far from the norm- think cafe meets beauty parlour just totally from what you would expect, definately the perfect setting for Nail Porn.
Since it was the first time I'd been there being the over enthusiastic person i am i was overly impressed! They had these mirrors with different features shoesd, skulls u name it, they had it. loved it because it really set the tone for the calibre of nail art...
'glitter, jems, and colour trends...'
Sophy spoke on the new collection  saying "My inspiration for my new A/W/Xmas Collection came from some of the fabrics I've seen in this season's designer collections. The Dolce &  Gabbana star print for example has been everywhere and the Missoni fabric inspired one was my answer to the Aztec Navaro trend in nail art.
Special effect polishes and metallics are also big in nails this season so I did some glittery party ones too.
I also love the matte topcoat look where it is combined  with a glossy finish. The contrast of textures looks so modern and stylish"
my response to that is... this type of nail art is only for the 'flyyy'chicks...(like a right pair  *wink*)

The quirky mirror featured definately distinguished the hairdressers from any other around london town, its not just a hairdressers its a beauty parlour come art gallery where art continues to formulate...

The evening was greeted by complimentary cupcakes courtesy of a local cake shop, tasty and fun and being a 'thick chick' i was in my element *chuckles*

heres the design freehand in the day by Sophy Robson... designs, prints & finger tips...

'Things arent always as black and white as they seem...'
The jazz singer and saxaphonist gave a really sweet tranquil touch to the busy ienvironment, i loved this feature to the evening as it gave focus for sophys client whilst they waitied for the magic to commence.
Thought i'd include last seasons designs just to show how sick she is.
Thought I'd also add my mates lucious sex nails lol.. the hearts are tooo cute but the nail shape (may i add is my fave) adds that  edge to the cuteness =)

Well Kinda Like a Boot Sale

So everyone likes to think they are far from stereotypes but in this sense- the shopping sence we are a hot feminine mess!

Having fallen victim to fashion we have accumulated a ridiculous amount of clothes we really didn’t have any intention of wearing so when the light bulb struck we decided to just sell it all off for dirt cheap prices!

So we pack the car, full of our delightful goodies, one mans trash is another mans treasure- and the items sure were someone else's treasure ranging from vintage knits to super slim skinnies, Kurt Geiger shoes and leather jackets we were on a mission to make someones day we headed to Brick lanes Sunday  market.

'Great idea!' i hear you say- thats exactly  what we thought, it wasn’t one of our smartest though cos things aren’t always that simple for us! We casually set up shop displaying everything we possibly could on top of  anything we could possibly utilise to our advantage...our suitcases the floor, the fence, branches...all for the wandering  eyes of the Shoreditch public's pockets...

...only to be moved on 25 minutes later #Liberties.

After the exciting commotion of being more or less escorted out after lugging our unwanted goods back into the car we drove off only to discover those cheeky scoundrils trading on the roadside in Shoreditch.... our lightbulb surfaced once again!!!!

Lets set up shop here!!!! So we did on a random road in Shoreditch laid down the blanket- and repeated the process from easrlier but instead of hanging hangers on branches that beautiful bold blue wall proved that anything can go beyond its generic features (lol) i'm sure it was never meant to be used as a clothes rail but it definitely came in handy!

The whole experience was hilarious! The wind sending the clothes flying off the car, jumping off the wall just misbehaving!  Well worth the hassle it was  and definitely the start of many more eventful Sundays!
